Re: Sleighbells Ringing at Back Fence- December 2019

Hello all.We have a little bit of snow on the ground, but, none expected for a while.I do know that can change any time.We are headed up to northern Michigan to deliver some presents for family that won"t be here for Christmas.Looks like the weather will be ok for our travels.

My son John has had some pretty nasty days with his chemo, but hanging in there.DD is still working on healing her leg, but,it"s slow going.DDIL has started radiation and it will be every day for 6 weeks.

All set for Christmas. For our family we will be together on the 29th to celebrate. So looking forward to it.

Have a good week.

@hellie jo   your family has certainly been through it the past couple of months.  I hope you enjoy your trip up north and have safe travels both ways.

@viva923  your husband has to be pooped after those kind of long days.  I'm glad you and he are able to spend some time together today.

I have a top load washer (GE) that wasn't necessarily marketed as HE so that's why I bought it, lol.

It's got an agitator in it because I couldn't wrap my head around a washer that doesn't have an agitator.

Once it was delivered and hooked up I realized it was more hi efficiency than not.  The hot water setting is not hot by my standards and I found the water level to be a little stingy depending on the load size.

For the rinse cycle I chose the deep rinse for fabric softener.  I don't use fabric softener, I was wanted more water in there for the rinse.  Most of my loads are large or extra large, whatever it takes for the water to be at a level that satisfies me.

I don't use HE detergent.  I use ALL free and clear; just don't overload on the soap.

Once I found a way around the water depth concern, I like the washer.

Re: Sleighbells Ringing at Back Fence- December 2019

The vent didn't get fixed nicely while my sis was here but it still worked. The other day my gs came over and neatened it up.  He also closed it more tightly. Being on blood thinners merle and I are cautious about ladders but I think we freak each other out. Joe just lifted his leg, stepped on the table and was at right place.  I think we were afraid we would strip the threads but I'm sure it didn't.   Much more comfortable in here.

we had fun visit except they are night owls.  I conked out on them the third night.  They weren't offended.  They got me an echo for Christmas and I am enjoying listening to Christmas music on it and being able to boss it around. Probably won't do many more things with it.   It is nice to ask when it's going to snow and what time and temp is.  It has a beautiful sound for a little tube.  I ordered a dot that was on sale which is mini echo and going to try to use it like an intercom since merle always says he didn't hear me.    We will see if that works.  Lol

Betty @yock  I can appreciate you waiting for Joe to help you out with the vent.  Aside from falling, you wouldn't want to cut a finger on a sharp edge of the vent seeing as you guys are on blood thinners.

I think using the echo and the dot like an intercom are a great idea.
