Tried these way too many times without satisfactory results - no appreciable scent.  Can anyone recommend another brand to try?

Goose Creek, I first read about them in one of the forums last year. Scents are great.

Read the reviews on their site.

I agree, I also agree with the other poster...Goose Creek candles are nice, inexpensive, and so many different scents to choose from.  They last long too...

Another vote for goose creek although I typically just use their wax melts.  I can find them in walmart but the goose creek online selection is much better.

I have tried a few candles as they are soy and don't throw as much soot, and they smell strong all the way to the very bottom.

I like Yankee Candle Sage and Citrus. Slatkin has Frozen Balsam which is very fragrant.

I like A Cheerful Giver candles but I stopped burning jar candles.  I now use a warmer and wax melts.  A Cheerful Giver sells melts but  Goose Creek is currently having a website sale.  I've seen them talked about favorably here so I put in an order with them.

I don't burn mine, I put them under one of my table lamps and the heat from it gives off a lovely scent, I do the same in my kitchen when I cook.

I had to stop doing that last year, it irritated my breathing and my old pup no longer is sneezing.

I have an intentional warmer with the lamp overhead.  We went to that when we had gotten a new kitten and she hopped up to investigate a burning jar candle.  No. 1, kitchen counter surfing isn't allowed.  No. 2, I saw her little tail pass over the flame and that scared me, so that was the end of that.  When I would use the overhead warming light with jar candles, though, they never melted to the bottom.  I suppose I could have poured out the melted wax, but the whole thing seemed wasteful for the price of the jar candles.  So now, the wax melts sit in a silicone cup and a different warmer warms from underneath.  I put a couple of melting cubes in at a time and can reuse them a bit.  When they're used up the hardened wax pops out and I put in new.  It works and it's not a big commitment.

I have bought many different candles through the years. I have a nice size

collection.

I no longer buy Yankee because I had too many I purchased one black Friday

at a great price and was disappointed with almost all of them with very little or

no scent.

The best candles I have purchased online are Goose Creek Candles. They give

a very strong scent that carries through my two-story home.

I am well stocked for now. Of course I have other brands of candles given or

bought through the years I burn but I know when I light up a Goose Creek I

will get decent scent.
