Signs of Spring

[ Edited ]

Here in western NC, we have a maple tree that has buds springing out, and the nasty orange asian bug is every where and so are those darn stink bugs.  Its impossible to keep then out of the house.

As soon as we get a day over 60 degrees...I will find a stick bug/bugs in the kitchen and family room...

I'm happy for you but we are at least a month away from signs of spring.  We did have 3 warm days that were lovely but also scary in a way.  Two 70 plus days in a row in February is just plain weird.

Here in Illinois, the weather has been VERY weird!  While it has been a bit above average, I'm sure we'll be in for another big storm before all is said and done.

Walking around the yard yesterday I noticed little green shoots of our snowdrops popping up.  The crocus and daffodils are just starting to send up little green sprigs, too!  A star magnolia we had planted in front year before last has fat buds on it already!  And the koi in our pond were swimming around like crazy last night.  I'm like, guys, its still chilly ~ sleep a little bit longer, lol!  While I'm not a huge lover of summer I do love seeing signs of spring.  :-)

Our trees along the parkway have been tricked into Spring.  Beautiful pink blossoms.  Noticed it today.

It's almost 80 degrees in North Georgia.  And I have had the bug spray out too and plan to do some yard work (UGH!!) in February and spray the house down with pesticide and the yard with weedkiller.

@Imaoldhippie  I noticed over the weekend (NE Ohio) that my daffodils are up about 3 inches already.  They are a really early variety that blooms for 2-3 weeks, but they almost always get snowed on!  It was 76 here on Tuesday, but yesterday the temp dropped 40 degrees by evening, and it snowed a bit this morning.  The snow has all melted now, though!

Western NY checking in and reporting:  daffadils have broken through the ground; and stink bugs and ants in the house.

All signs of spring at my house.

Though this winter hasn't been as harsh as most here in my part of PA (yet!)- I'm rejoicing in seeing, and hearing about your signs of spring. I see tree buds, bulbs emerging with all this rain and blue birds. No robins yet, which is the surest sign for me.

The lady bugs never even left, but I'm seeing more by the day.

A coworker went to FLorida last week (Fort Meyers) and she said it was actually too hot (85-90)!
