*** Shabbat Shalom October 6 ***

Happy Friday! Wishing all who enjoy reading and/or posting here a restful & peaceful weekend. I am sending hope to all on these forums who are are dealing with illnesses, their own and their loved ones as well.

I am getting ready to bake a challah bread. This will be a first for me as yeast & I do not work well together. Twice I have failed baking with it. So after googling yeast free challah recipes I am going to try one. Hopefully it will come close to what I am used to.

The weather here in SE WI is rainy & temps have dropped into the 50"s. I will not miss the heat we've had. Enjoy the weekend!

Here in NY we are preparing for yet another day of rain, although it is unlikely to surpass last Friday's monsoon of 7 inches.  The humidity today is off the charts, and I am looking forward to actual fall weather returning next week.

Some lucky folks have a three day weekend because of Columbus Day, but however long it is, I hope it is pleasant.

@MOMMAVik   Thank you for the beautiful thoughts and post.

I have faith your challah will turn out delicious.  I commend you for taking on the baking!

It's beautiful here in Central AZ, 85 today with a light breeze.  How can I complain, right?

Happy autumn weekend, everyone!   We're still having warm, humid weather but now and then we get a refreshing glimpse of autumn, my favorite season.  I love the cool brisk weather and magnificently colored trees.  Seems like it's gone in a wisp of a breeze, missed if we dare blink an eye.  Good to remember to cherish the memories and make new memories;  to do our best to let go of bad feelings, worries, grudges, and such; and also to be grateful for the simple abundances we have now.  I hope all of you have a safe and pleasant weekend, with only as much adventure as you want🙃😉 and with lots of warmth and smiles. Thank you for this thread, I hope your bread turns out perfectly, @MOMMAVik, and I want to send my thanks, also, to @sunala

Good wishes to all who read and post here.❤️

@MOMMAVik   My grandma used to bake the best challah. The scent of her baking permeated through the neighborhood. Her neighbors would come knocking at her door. They knew that grandma always made extras & would hand them out. They also got to enjoy her streudel, knishes & gefilte fish. I can still taste & smell them!!

Have a Good Shabbos everyone & enjoy your weekend. Fall weather is supposed to arrive here tomorrow.I have to say I've been loving the warm temperatures.

My son & DIL are returning from a Mediterranean cruise tomorrow.I can't wait to see them on Sunday. DH & I feel like they've been gone forever.

@MOMMAVik

I also hope the yeast-free challah turns out great.

Since I gave up baking many years ago, DH just picked up the bread at BJ's.  With peanut butter and raisins added, it goes well with my breakfast tea.

Happy Shabbat Shalom to you and all who celebrate.

Hope your bread comes out well.

Loving the Fall here in the beautiful PNW, although I'm wishing it wasn't so sunny and clear skied. I'm ready for the dark cloudy/cozy.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy weekend filled with all good things.

Although fall is my favorite season, I don't like the shorter daylight days to come.  I just want to hibernate.

Hmmm, challah, nom nom. Enjoy!
