We have always stayed home at night, and actually never got into a routine of going out.   We always worked different days, and different shifts; he had very long hours, double shifts; time at home was precious and the absolute best place to be.   I do my grocery shopping anywhere from 6 - 9 a.m., when the store is almost empty, and get out of town as quickly as possible.   I absolutely hate to be in a crowd, regardless of where it is.
