I am think of trying to sell some shoes on Poshmark.  Has anyone does this?  What is your success rate in selling?  Also, has anyone sold items beside clothing?

I have a lot of shoes just sitting in my closet.  Have been retired for about 5 years and don't need them anymore.  Was going to donate, but thought if I could sell them and get some money that would be great.

I have tried selling items through Facebook and nextdoor without to much luck.  A couple of items I had listed on Nextdoor, someone contacted me they were insterested.  Even said that would come that day to pick up the item.  Then no response, tried contacting them to see if they were still interested.  Again, no reponse.

Hi. I don't sell on poshmark but have wondered about it before.

There is a thread on this forum where it has been discussed. The title is: Any Poshmarksellers?

I don't know how to post a link to that discussion but perhaps someone else here will chime in. Smiley Happy

@Hemi 659   Go to the Search Forums and Blogs box at the top of the page and type in "Any Poshmarksellers" and that thread will come up.

@quilter61

Here's the link to the discussion on the Q board here.

I sell on Poshmark and have for many years.

I also enjoy buying on Poshmark. When I make an offer on something I like and want to purchase... Poshmark automatically processes the sale...just like EBay does now.

Personally, I donate.  I can take the REAL resale price off my taxes if I donate to 501c3 Non-Profits....instead of dickering w/ people wanting it practically for free via Next Door, FB. Garage sales etc.

No hassles, no shipping to contend with.

Additionally, if you are a seller, you are responsible to report the sale as income!

I know of some who were contacted by NYS looking for their 'resale' number etc.

Venmo etc payments can be tracked.

Not worth it.

@quilter61  -  Have you considered Ebay?  I've been a seller for many years on Ebay.  I've sold shoes too.

I've been selling on eBay for years and more recently on Poshmark. I find eBay easier and have had more success with it.

@RespectLife From what I read you only need to report if you made over $20,000 in sales.  They are trying to change that to anything over $600 but they keep delaying it.  I do sell on Poshmark & Mercari.  I have sold on Ebay many years ago.  I find PM easier especially for shipping.  When something sells, they send you a postage label and you ship it out.  It is all tracked for you.

Thanks everyone for info about Poshmark.  One thing I did want to ask is how long are items allowed to be posted?  Are they taken down after so many days?

Someone stated about selling on Ebay.  Did try that but nothing sold.  What I liked about Poshmark is that they give you the pre paid shipping label, you just have to box the item up and take it to the post office.
