Those scam calls are ramping up again....LOL @ the windows vs the computer windows. Either way do not accept any windows help. Actually is best not to engage those scammers at all in conversation as there is a new scam now and they try to get you to say just one word "YES" and record you saying the word "yes" and try to rope you into agreeing to pay for something you didnt order. Yea so is best not to even engage them in any verbal conversation. I have been getting the one from so called IRS threatening to send me to jail or take me to court over back taxes....hahahaha yea right please send me to jail ..LOL I just hang up on them. In fact now that these calls are ramping up I dont answer my phone unless I know who is calling. Another one from a private number claims to be from "police fund" asking for donations but I wont answer them either now. I guess some have fallen for these scams or they wouldnt still be doing this?

You are correct. The best thing is not to even engage with these people. I get a call from some moron saying he was from the IRS, and could not even talk to the psycho. I hung up and quit answering if I don't recognize the number.
And there have been calls every day here lately that I don't recognize.

Oh your reply was so funny.

I say, "That's interesting because I don't own a computer".....they probably know I am lying, but so are they! Then I just hang up!

I like to play with them..they annoyed me so it is fair.I like to take up their time so there is one less call they can make and hopefully someone is spared a scam.

I get about 12 of these calls everyday. At first I would mess with their mind like when they told me I "won" a security system I said Oh My God, you don't know how much I need one. People have been breaking in stealing my stuff. I then ask if they can put a system in a camper and if they can, can they get ( then president) Obama to pay the monthly fee because I have no money. Shuts them up.
I also keep a loud whistle by my phone and I play along just long enough to go outside and blast their ears.
Now I just don't answer numbers I don't recognize, if they know me they will leave a message.![]()

Now you opened yourself up to other scammers, they know that someone is on the other end and that number of yours is a valid phone number.
Please be careful, use your caller id or just plain hang up.

Yes, it's unfortunate that people just don't understand how those calls work. They engage these callers in conversation which is what they want. I agree, they now know that this is valid phone number and the owner is extremely naive and will listen to anyone who calls her....which is the first step in any scam....getting the caller's attention and engaging the caller in a conversation.

When I toy with them to waste their time, talk giberish and I never get any more calls so for me it works because they then know that this number won't fall for their scams and not worth wasting their time!! As a result I very rarely get more calls like this. When I just didn't do this, each day I got 3 or 4 calls from some of the same numbers and they kept calling unless I answered and wasted their time. I've had nasty replies saying well you're obviously not interested so we'll take your number out of our system also! I never use the word yes in any conversation.
