Among Friends

Today was kind of depressing to me.Customers and co workers were getting flowers,candy and gifts for this Valentine day. All but me.I remember those days when I was married.Boy has that ever changed.

Now I know I am not the only person single and Valentineness.Tomorrow I will be over it and back to my normal self

I should of mentioned,I received a lovely card and cute socks from my daughter last week in the mail last week.I mainly ment Valentine day is geared for couples

@Luvsmyfam. It isn't fun and a few pangs of feeling down but the day is almost over. Even some couples don't celebrate or bother but  still have good marriages.  I dont think my Dad bought my Mother a card, yet he visited her every day in the Nursing home Just not romantic.

A couple who are friends of mine, the husband said," A gift comes out of the joint account so why?" Last year I gave his wife a $6.00 tulip plant and this year I bought heart  dog treats for their dogs and a  funny card to them from their dogs. They do not have children. I  also shared some my of my candy I bought. I buy myself flowers and chocolate.

@Luvsmyfam Lots of holidays for people with families, friends or pets.  Lots of people don't have families, friends or pets.  Don't think about what you don't have, spend time being thankful for what you do have.  Few  have it all.  Be happy, be thankful for today!

It can be a difficult day for singles not in a relationship. I've been there. When I was in my 20's, my then boyfriend came over on Valentine's Day to break up with me....in person. How galant of him. Case in point, I married up, and better than him. Dark days are not always dark for long.
