It's the impending change of season from winter to spring. Happens every year.
Yesterday, the WFLA (Tampa) meteorologists were calling forecast highs of 90 "pleasantly warm" I call it 'I'll be in the Gulf on a floaty"
Today they're calling highs in the mid 60's for the coming week as "frigid". I just about spit my coffee all over my keyboard. I call it "open the windows, turn off the AC and put on a sweatshirt". I'm going back north next weekend, and it's forecasted to be 12 degrees when I arrive. THAT might qualify as "frigid".

@Shanus yes, here in Union Co we had pounding rain and tunderstorms w/the power flashing on and off.
The BF's kids/grands are coming for a visit today from the Winston Salem area. We were out shopping at the grocery store in this mess for drinks, etc.....for their visit.

@Shanus Same thing here near the beach in SE MD. It's 64 degrees right now but really windy. The sun is in/out. I'll take it as it's a break from the cold.
Wednesday into Thursday snow again. Not sure how much. Boots and snow scraper on stand by for work those mornings 😫.

Seems to me as if the whole nation is experiencing what climate change is doing to their weather. I've lived in hurricane territories for 6 decades now, but 2024 showed me "I hasn't seen anything yet." (bad grammar deliberate) No damage to my home, but the hurricanes and tornadoes both were too close to make me feel safe.
I know the warmth here insouthern Florida is expected to disappear again, but COLD here is rarely in the low 50's even - just enough to give us ex-northerns reason to wear our good old sweaters or jackets.

@cindyNC Yes, lights flickering on and off half dozen times and think the worst is over here, but never know. Enjoy your day.

@LindaSal wrote:Wow 70 degrees @Shanus ? It's 34 here in RI and what a messy storm we are having.
4 inches of snow fell overnight, turned to sleet which is just turning to a cold rain as I type this. Supposed to hit the low 40's and then a cold front comes through as the storm exits.
We'll be left with winds up to 60mph and temps in the teens tonight, with a coating of ice on everything......... low 20's for the high the next few days.
We may also lose our power, these types of storms are the absolute worst. I would be so much happier with a foot of snow, seriously. Regardless, stay safe and warm.
@LindaSal Same here in NY. We got 34" of snow Friday and sleet last night my windows are a sheet of ice. The 50-60 mph winds are to start around 4. I am not looking forward to that. I have everything charged up in case we do lose power.

I am in western WA state--and finally, our weather is normal for us-daytime temps in the upper 40's, lows in the low 40's and is grey and rainy--had 2 weeks of very chilly weather---for us--even some snow and ice. Even supposed to get to 53* by the end of this week!! But got tons of snow in the mountains. Still we didn't have nearly the weather trauma that the rest of the U.S. did.

It's 29* now here in Millbury MA with alternating sleet, then freezing rain, not looking forward to the 50/60mph winds coming tonite and tomorrow! Sounds like you're not that far away, but at least you're above freezing now! Let's hope no downed trees/power lines later! Take care and stay warm.![]()

@eddyandme No I'm not far from you at all. You stay warm too and hopefully we both make out okay with the winds!
