Re: SO SICK OF TELEMARKETING CALLS

Yeah right on @Mz iMac.  Just how do they know this info and who's releasing it?

Big Bro has been in all of our stuff for YEARS now.  Very scary and disturbing.

Re: SO SICK OF TELEMARKETING CALLS

It woirks on landlines if your provider is listed.  Also on some wireless.  Your provider has to be listed though.

Re: SO SICK OF TELEMARKETING CALLS

At the risk of telling you something you already know - Don't pick up if it's a number you don't recognize.  Once you pick up, it's all over - they'll sell your number to other telemarketers, letting them know yours is a "live" number.

Once in a while, I'll pick up by mistake, and then I'll get a lot of junk calls for up to a week.  But eventually they'll die back to almost none.

Worst case - file a complaint with the FCC.  I did that recently when the same number called seventeen times in four days.  They left a message on the answering machine each time but it was just a hang-up.  The FCC doesn't usually follow-up on individual complaints but they respond and thank you, saying they use your information to establish patterns of abuse.

Re: SO SICK OF TELEMARKETING CALLS

A few days ago, this woman called and I said, "YES" in a baby voice. She asked to speak to a grownup. I continued sayiang YES, YES, YES. She didn't know what to do. Then - in a loud voice - I told her where to go!!!!

I have a landline and I noticed that some days there are no calls - and other days there are 5 or 6. I'm sure the same people are using different phone numbers.

Re: SO SICK OF TELEMARKETING CALLS

Okay need opinions:   Since most of the calls I have picked up ask for my hubby that passed, do you think I should change the number?
