*****SHABBAT SHALOM OCTOBER 4TH*****

Shabbat Shalom and welcome to this Friday thread. All are invited to share weekend plans or what they did during the week.

I think I shared the frightening experience going to services with so much police presence. The Rabbi had 2 police up front near her, too. Next week for Yom Kippur, we have the website and will watch services that will be streaming. My Star of David once again is hidden under my top.

No special plans this weekend...same old packing and dividing what will be sold, donated or now another pile of bins to go to the Asheville area. We separated clothing, kitchen and household items for them. Molly's vet office is collecting it all and will get it where it needs to go to get there. I'll get it out there today.

I'm hoping the world will stop spinning and pray that everything will return to some form of calm.

Wishing all a safe and fun fall weekend.

Weekend plans:

Pickup DH from hospital ( second experience in 2 weeks for shortness of breath at a heart-wrenching level )

Team of doctors working together to make certain all vital functions are back to "normal" and a consensus for best meds plan and actions.  Seems to have stabilized this time.

Keeping the powerful prayer warriors updated and thanked.

Seems as though everywhere I turn there is such turmoil and despair.  At this age, it appears that life and death issues abound and do not respect geographic boundaries separating countries.

Sorry, this is sounding " down " because I do believe in the power of prayer.

Hoping for blessings on all the folks devastated by Hurricane Helene.

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.

[ Edited ]

There is a lot of sadness around but we will try to keep that positive inner feeling going!

Lots of prayers going on for the world to come to its senses......and of course prayers for our fellow Americans suffering through their recovery from the hurricane.  We made a donation to Samaritan's Purse this week.

Kind of a quiet weekend here.  Tomorrow we have dinner and a show locally.  We have a very old movie theatre here from 1926 and it really is a gem of a place.  It only holds a little over 1,000 people.  Still has movie days and many bands come through, cover and original.  We have tickets to a Bob Seger cover band so that should be fun.

Sunday is football day!

Wishing you all a calm and peaceful weekend.

Re: *****SHABBAT SHALOM OCTOBER 4TH*****

Hi everyone, Smiley Happy  *waving*

I've missed meeting here with all of you.   I'm finally feeling so much better after battling the  yuck  from hades....ear infection, pink eye, sinus infection and upper respiratory yuck.

All that is left is the lingering cough, thank goodness. This really  knocked me for a loop.   Happy to be better.

Thank you, @Shanus , for this week's thread.  I echo your prayers.

@jlkz prayers for your husband.

Fall is my favorite season, so I am looking forward to taking a drive this weekend.  The leaves are just starting to turn here.  Further north, there is more to see.

October is my favorite season.  I LOVE sports, and  October brings baseball playoffs, football and the start of hockey!   I'm in heaven. LOL   My team flags, for all three sports, are up in my yard. lol

My prayers are with everyone who was affected by the most recent hurricane.  The pictures/videos I've seen are heartbreaking.

I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.

Today is National Taco Day. Enjoy! Mangia!
