Shamus - your threads are for those who are of your faith and I understand.

Question - Can others of another faith contribute?  I know of one very nice poster who might join your thread.  If not, we understand.

@Puzzle Piece  I'm not @Shanus  but your question is easily answered.  EVERYONE is welcome here.   I am not of the Jewish faith. I contribute on a regular basis.

Re: SHABBAT SHALOM OCTOBER 24TH

Hi everyone, Smiley Happy

Late again this week.  I hope you had a Good Shabbos and you're enjoying a good weekend.

We are at peak fall foliage here in CNY.   Lots of color to enjoy.

Wishing everyone a good week ahead with time to recharge, when needed.

I can't get on the site I usually use for our food selection.  So, I'm leaving apple fritter bites. Enjoy! Mangia!

Apple Fritters are deep fried donuts filled with apples, cinnamon and drizzled with an easy three ingredient glaze.

@Puzzle Piece   Hi. Althought the title of the thread refers to the Jewish Sabbath beginning on Friday night at sundown until sundown on Saturday, please read the many posts this week and previous ones.

Many just share weekend plans or wish each other a happy weekend, etc. I've said in many threads over the years that everyone is welcome.

BTW, I "inherited" this thread decades ago from another forum member who needed to leave. I felt it was important to keep it going.

Same here.  I'm not of the faith, either, but I spent much of my childhood in Rogers Park, Chicago.  In the 60s, it was a predominantly Jewish neighborhood and my sister dated (and married) a nice Jewish boy who introduced her to foods that I still love today.  And can't find in Albuquerque.  We had a fabulous deli here a few years ago and it didn't last. Woman Sad

Went to Las Vegas this past week to see The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere and ate breakfast twice at Siegel's Bagelmania.  Bagels and blintzes and rye -- oh, my!

Re: SHABBAT SHALOM OCTOBER 24TH

@just bee about 9 years ago, my son and gf at the time, now wife, moved to Chicago for work. They lived in Hyde Park, near the Science and Industry Museum.

We had the opportunity to spend many days investigating the different neighborhoods all over the city.

I LOVED IT ALL!!!

Chicago is a great city with fabulous neighborhoods!

I look forward to going back.
