Shabbat Shalom all. A very disturbing week. Still looking for the peace.
I am in the midst of moving and settling my 87yr old Mom ( who is quite helpless) into assisted living after clearing her house of 60 yrs- which has all been kind of a nightmare. But thankfully,, it's a good distraction. Ihave a twin sister who claims she can't do anything for anyone- no time.  Hate her, selfish jerk. It's all me, yay.

@Skyegirl21 Boy do I feel your pain.  It is so hard, and when you are doing it alone, I can say that not alone, but my husband and I did it just us and sometimes you think "I can't do this" and you have to.

You are in my heart for where you are now!  I hope you and your mom will be blessed along the way and  it all works out for both you and she is content and even happy with this new adventure for her as she adjusts to it.

Thanks for commiserating @Sooner , and @Shanus .  I am so totally resentful, angry- no one did anything over the 60 years to clean out and declutter- and my Sister is useless.  Message to everyone, don't leave all your stuff for your kids to deal with!!  ITS NOT FAIR. This whole thing has def made me stop buying stuff!! 🤣 Hope everyone who had a rough week finds some peace and solace.. Shalom. đź’ť

Good Shabbos and happy weekend to all.

@Shanus  with all you have going on, thank you for this week's peaceful, inclusive thread.  I hope your biopsies' results come back quickly and with good news. Enjoy your busy weekend with your dear family.

@Skyegirl21 I'm sorry you're left to deal with all of that without your sister's help.

@Oznell I've not had the news on, so I didn't know what happened. TY for posting about what is going on.  I will keep all those affected in my prayers.

Year round, I volunteer for one of the political  parties.  Wednesday after I woke up and caught up with the news, I stayed off of all social media, didn't watch the news and snuggled with my pup.  She is my unofficial  emotional support pup, who keeps me sane. Boy, did she have her paws full on Wednesday. lol

Like all of you, I pray for peace and understanding.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Be good, kind and gentle with yourselves.

Today is National Cappuccino Day.  Enjoy!  "beviamo!" ("let's drink")

@Shanus,  I hope the biopsies turn out well, with no worries.  Enjoy the fun weekend.

Re: *****SHABBAT SHALOM November 8TH*****

@Skyegirl21 ...I just had to reply to your post...I just recently went through similar to your experience.   I lost both my parents this April and July....they had over 70 years and more accumulated personal items. .my mother kept high-school items etc.  I literally had to go through each and every item before deciding what to dispose of.

I had their entire house to keep up with in and out.

It was basically only me to do it all, but thankfully I did have help from my daughters and my husband had to often make repairs as we went along.

.My only brother lives out of state so it really didn't pay for him to come and help, and I needed to get things moving asap.  He works, has family, etc.  I'm not resentful...I just see that it's the way things turned out.  I've have heard some say, it's not fair, but again...I believe it's the cards I've been dealt.

Been a long gruesome road, and very lonely...and I'm grieved with the loss of both my parents passing within 2 months of each other...another transition for me after taking care of them in every aspect you can imagine.

Anyone going through this...just try be thankful that you did it.  It's a great honor to bring everything to closure as properly as possible.   It can be a hard and lonely road, but it's a good task. GOD BLESS!
