Shabbat Shalom and welcome to everyone who enjoys this thread on Fridays to begin their weekend.
Well, the consignment company comes around noon to pick up some large pieces of furniture and the movers come for everything else early Monday morning.
I have many mixed feelings of looking forward to another chapter in our lives and sadness leaving 50 years of living in a home with a yard, my gardening and all the room needed to entertain, storage for everything and have guests stay over. We did rent a huge storage unit down the hall for anything I packed but not sure about including our antique brass bed . The second bedroom does have a wrought iron trundle bed tucked in the corner and a huge walk in closet so we can add coats. It's the closest bedroom to the entry and we put shelves floor to ceiling in the entry closet to turn it into a pantry.
The new sofa, loveseat and rugs arrive in a few weeks and my two sofas that survived 30 years of three beagles are not coming with us. Most of my lamps sold at the garage sale and I purchased new ones at HomeGoods for my night tables and living room. I'm still going with neutral beige and white since my dishes and decorative accessories are collections are blue and white. The look is more relaxed Country Farmhouse than the more formal French style I had here.
Over the past months we've taken over dishes, pillows, bedding, decor I can do without, towels, etc. My new queen size (?!?!?... that will be new to us) is already made up and room set up to fall into bed Monday night after a long day...after a long hot bath first.
So, I'll try to keep in touch the next few days and pop on next week just to take a break from unpacking and see how everyone's doing.
Have a wonderful, restful and safe weekend.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend and the week ahead.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads here on earth and in Heaven.
My husband requested Alaskan King Crab Legs, Porterhouse Steak, Baked Potato, and Salad for Fathers Day...and that's exactly what our family is having. He wants to shop for the meal after work and he is the griller.
I will just have the fixins to prep.
This hard working man deserves whatever he wants. He has worked non stop for our family and has had a job since he was 12 years old.
@Shanus ,
I am excited for you. Is your house sold?
You will reap the benefits of all this hard work soon!

@DREAMON We have 3 offers on the house...kind of a bidding war since we're near the university and hospital. Our realtor will be in touch next week with any news.
Not sure we'll get out for father's day with the move the next day...Maybe pasta if I haven't take that pot over to my new home...or pizza!!! Lol

@Shelbelle Thanks so much for the good wishes on the move. If the consignment folks decide to take our bed, we may have to take a few things and sleep at our new home. Lol

Shabbat Shalom and Happy Father's Day weekend! I think of my Dad every single day. He worked so hard from sun up to sundown to provide for us. Yet he never missed a moment to chat and take part in our activities.
"Just like that" our whirlwind of visitors is over! So nice to see them all, especially our great niece and great nephews. Now it's time to put the house back in order 😲

In the 80's (when we were moving in to our new first home) we slept on the carpeted floor for a few days till our bed was delivered.
Boy are those days over.....now we would need help getting up after sleeping on the floor.![]()
