*****SHABBAT SHALOM. APRIL 21st*****

[ Edited ]

Shabbat Shalom on this beautiful Friday. I wish a warm welcome to anyone who joins us here for this inclusive thread today. We offer friendship, sympathy and an "ear" for all your news of the week.

Hope for all who are injured and with out homes/food/loss of businesses in the middle of the country after severe tornados. Also hoping for peace that seems to be out of reach in our country....stopped watching the news. Terrifying!

I have the granddaughters this weekend while their folks take a much needed rest. Tonite is matzo ball soup and temple. Need to keep that soup on hand here always.

Since severe storms here tomorrow, I think we'll be painting in my studio and playing with Molly. Last time they visited, they taught her "high 5". There are also some movies they wanted to see and we have Apple TV. Prime...definitely can find something. Of course, there's always makeup and hair fun at Mom Mom's. I have a surprise for them on Sunday after Sunday school. They have appts. for professional manis and pedis. I can hear the squeals now.

....Oh, we're baking, too.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend....not sure how relaxing mine will be....very busy, but so much fun!!! Woman Happy

Re: *****SHABBAT SHALOM. APRIL 21st*****

Good morning all.    We had a couple of doozy storms here this past week. A LOT of rain and wind that could blow you down the street.

Busy weekend with friends tomorrow night and Sunday evening.  Rarely do we plan anything with anyone on a Sunday, especially in the evening.   This is an exception!

Enjoy anything and everything that you do ...  or don't do.   Sometimes you need to chill and not have something that needs your attention evey moment.

Stay happy, healthy, safe, and appreciate of all that you have and who you are.

Hugs

xoxo

Shabbat Shalom, Happy Weekend & Happy Earth Day! Sounds like our crazy storms have moved out of our are. Thinking of those who suffered with the tornados and fierce weather.

@Shanus , you will have a rockin' weekend with your granddaughters! Enjoy your time together.

@MOMMAVik   I'm sure Sunday night I'll be bathed and ready to turn in early. Those Girls keep me on the run, but wouldn't trade it for the  world.

Have a good weekend.

Re: *****SHABBAT SHALOM. APRIL 21st*****

It really warms my heart to see ya'll here each week.

We had an antisemitic in a Raleigh neighborhood yesterday. Rude, crude and frightening flyers had been distribulted to homes overnight. Families woke up to them in the mailboxes, nailed to the trees and floating in the streets.

Local groups came to clear them out and help clean up the neighborhood. Rabbis came on the news to speak about the dangers brewing.

I grew up with all this and really thought it was over (but  went underground) by Junior High School. I feel badly that my children and grandchildren have to experience this. My youngest granddaughter who is 11 yrs. old took off HER Star of David and doesn't want anyone to know she's Jewish at school. I explained the sugggestion I received here to tuck it under her shirt, close to her heart and showed her mine is still there, too.

My DIL teaches preschool at the Temple Day School and is fearful as well. She said the violence in schools is compounded by the hatred of certain groups.

Please be aware that those that intimidate and form hate groups can be violent and cause fear in ALL of us. Being Jewish has never been "easy" and now with other minorities included in the hate, where will it end?
