@Mz iMac  You own the product and a review would be appropriate.  Doesn't make any difference where it was purchased.  You have hands-on experience with the product.

@Fiero Woman@Alison Wonderlandlet's face it, when you buy something on TV you take a chance, review or no review. If the Q doesn't want the customer to believe their presentation and demos than why go to the trouble. Some customers believe everything the Q says and does on air, so why should they have to experience the product to confirm that. Either they like what they see or they don't. Evidently the Q doesn't mind them voicing their opinions in a review.

Perhaps they have received the item as a gift.

@Fiero Woman @StephaniM @blackhole99 - Well, I didn't think QVC could disappoint me any further, but this post left me with my jaw on the floor. People actually post reviews on QVC without purchasing from QVC? That really removes ALL credibility from all reviews, doesn't it?

So, the reviews I've left in all honesty, mean absolutely nothing since many (wonder what percentage?) of the reviews aren't purchased from QVC and/or left by a real buyer about the product. SMH

Then, add THIS to my disappointment: Following each purchased, QVC sends an email asking for my review! I've often felt that was tacky in itself and often didn't review a product just to be ornery.

My review should be based on my OWN desire to rate a product . . . certainly not because the company asked me to do so.

Now I'm so disgruntled after reading about unethical reviews. What a disappointment that I ever became involved with QVC, purchased from them, wrote any reviews (glowing and so-so) and tolerated those unprofessional hosts until a couple of years ago when I finally ceased watching altogether. How I wish all of my reviews could be deleted!!!

This is enough to change my name from BirkiLady or stop QVC completely. Have to seriously think about my values. WOW - huge disappointment.

You must be someone who makes up phony reviews because that is exactly what you are saying.  The point of product review is to express one's opinion about the product.  We can all see the presentations...lol   As many times as we want...lol  Reviews are supposed to be from people who actually tasted the food or tried on the shoes or wore the pants or felt the fabric of a shirt.  How the heck can someone review something just because they saw Rick present it?

@chrystaltreeIf you think I make up phony reviews as you call them, then just pass by my reviews, simple, no.

@BirkiLady.  I think every online company with which I do business sends a follow-up asking for a review.....except QVC.  I've never gotten one from them.

@Kachina624Never? They've been sending an email the day after I receive every item for several years. Like clockwork. So much for being a good consumer in the past! I'm so disillunsioned with this latest information. Knew the hosts were full of BS, but to allow false reviews is so unethical. What else do they do that we don't know about yet? Or do posters know more you care to share? What an eye-opener yesterday! WOW

@BirkiLady.  I know I put forth a lot of effort into writing accurate, honest reviews, as I think many others do.  It's very disheartening to read some where it's obviously been written by someone who has never set eyes on the item.  There have also been occasions where it was obvious the vendor wrote the review.  These things are reported but nothing is done.  Its best to take all reviews with a grain of salt, so to speak.

@Kachina624  Live and learn!  That was one hxxx of a lesson for me.  Over the shock, but still completely disappointed in QVC's lack of policy. Although I should have known better, shouldn't I?  Speaks volumes about the hosts, vendors and their lack of ethics doesn't it? <face slap>
