Have you shopped and needed to return anything from/to HSN? I have but maybe not anymore. Here's why.

I returned 2 items (separate packages) to HSN. I always go back to their site to check the amt of my returns. I'm finding that I did not receive the full purchase price of either item. YES I returned well within the 30day policy. I also did not recevie that tax that I paid on either item.  At least here at the Q we are refunded the tax we pay.

DId this policy change that we do not get back the tax we pay?

And since when do we not receive back the entrie amount of the item?

Has anyone experienced this on refunds from HSN? I was going to do a live chat with their CS to ask them but their live chat doesn't work. I WILL be phoning them to find out the answers to my concerns. Based on what I find out, I will more than likely never order from HSN again.

@PINKdogWOOD....I think their policy is similar if not the same as qvc...you will/should be refunded the item cost as well as tax but not the shipping of the item to you and you also pay the return shipping if you  return the item.

Call customer service, they should be able to explain it to you.

@PINKdogWOODRetailers are legally required to refund the tax along with the purchase price.  If you used the prepaid label to ship the return, there is always a deduction in the refund for using that label (unless prior agreements are made with CS due to damaged item or incorrect order).  I have not returned anything to HSN in ages, but (corporate parent) Quarate may have changed the policy so that like QVC, HSN no longer refunds original s&h.

I've no question about s/h, I understand this - they all get us coming & going on s/h UNLESS WE pay s/h back to said vendor. And when I pay s/h back I also include a big note reminding them I PAID s/h back to them so I'd not dinged twice.

This is all about original purchase price and tax I paid.

@PINKdogWOOD  I'm curious - let us know what you find out after calling customer service.

I haven't returned anything from HSN, but I do have to watch what I return to QVC.  I've had instances where I was charged incorrectly, but did contact customer service to correct.

It is frustrating that it does seem to be confusing sometimes on what we think we should get as a refund, and what it actually ends up being.   I bet most people just return and never even check on what the credit amount ends up being.

I've had instances with other retailers, where my credit was received by them, but not credited to my account until way past 45 days later (and about 5 phone calls), and where I was short shipped items and had to contact the retailer to get the other half of my order.

I have always recieved the purchase price and tax less the return shipping fee.  Customer service can look at it for you.

I have returned items to HSN and always receive my correct refund. QVC keeps charging me the return label fee when I return on my own. I had to call them last Friday about this and told the CS rep that this keeps happening. It is like they default to the return label fee instead of checking how it was returned.

Call me the idiot!!!

@CAcableGirl2  That return s/h label will get me every time! I totally did not factor in their $7.95 deduction. This is exactly what happened, didn't even think about it.

you do know you can return several items in one package to save on  return shipping they will only ding one of the orders in the package. because they charge by weight.

i just returned small item, free ship,  used flexpay  and  was credited 20.00 on a 28.00 1st flexpay. $7.95 to return. its nuts to pay that return ship on a .5 oz item .
