Reflecting on this beautiful day...

I have not been around much on these boards of late, I have been lending moral support to my brother who several months ago, received an emergency ostemy. He has been alone since  his son passed away. He is on the road to recovery now.

This morning I couldn't help but Marvel at the beauty that was all around me on my morning walk with my little  Shihtzu,Riley,at how blue the sky was .The air  feeling so different. I am amazed and blessed by the life I, we  live.Out here in the country , our family back roads are dotted with daffodils and  early flowers . I can hear the trains in the distance.The sound of family  roosters. Music of the country!  I have a dinning room table bursting with seedlings awaiting to go, a pond full of koi,and an amazing amount of memories  to make. This may not be every body's dream, but for me, heaven on earth... I hope you take the time one beautiful day soon to stop and smell the flowers and smells of this beautiful life we have. There is no greater gift than contentment. Thriving where you are planted. Wishing you a lovely season  , you deserve it dear friends!  blessings of peace, Maryanne

@Keeper of the koi

I don't live in the country however I take great joy in the birds and squirrels that visit my yard daily.  I've noticed that buds are growing on the silver maple in the front yard and my grass is greening up, all signs of new life.  I can't wait for my 'may bells' (what I call lily of the valley) to sprout out of the ground.  There season is so short, that I fill small glasses of water with them and place them around the house - love the smell.

Re: Reflecting on this beautiful day...

Maryanne that was a lovely post, one so vibrant and visual I got lost in your words. So nice and I also live way back in the country woods upon my 11.5 acres of heaven with no neighbors near. Today I saw deer grazing in my back yard, 3 spotted fawns, 3 owls hooting and various spring flowers that signify renewal. Is beautiful living on your own piece of content heaven isn't it? As I was reading your post I could also hear the distant sound of a train, was the only sound of society in the near distance. I used to have a Koi pond when living in another state.... until a sneaky blue herring decided to come for lunch and rob my pond of the fish bounty LOL. Thanks and welcome back.
