Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this, all of you.  I don't force my beliefs down people's throats and neither did these threads.

Faith is not a bad word.  For me, it's what I turn to for strength and for peace.  We need places that we can go to for strength and support.

@kjae No Christmas in July.  I don't know; that might be a good thing! Lol

Re: Question for Mods

[ Edited ]

Hi Makeup Addict...

Yes, I agree with you 100%.

Gloriajean was not hurting anyone...Those who did not like it did not have to even go onto this "Thread"!

However, those of us who felt blessed to be able to go to such a "Thread", feel very let down by you...QVC.

If QVC is going to interfer with our "Threads"...

Than QVC must STOP the "HOST's BLOGS" regarding "RELIGION" too.

QVC...Here are -2- "PERFECT EXAMPLE'S"...

Almost "EVERY HOST BLOG" refers to "RELIGION" in some way...

Yes, QVC this then must stop too!

Inspire Me  (106 ITEMS)

My faith has carried me through so many dark times & constantly gives me comfort, purpose, and clarity. I love keeping inspirational items around to remind me that I'm not in charge, God's in control. If I put my faith in Him, everything will be fine.

PM Style Blog - Thank you, Prayer Warriors!
by on ‎07-21-2016 05:14 PM

I have been blown away by, and so grateful for, your prayers these past few weeks for my family. My mom relishes in telling people that our family has a whole “prayer chain of QVC viewers” and it brings a choke to her throat and my dad’s to know they are being lifted up by countless beautiful loving strangers.

OP stated it perfectly.  Someone's spouse passes away and they ask for prayers.  A host has a baby and they say they are thankful to God.  Some posters talk about their faith in an agreeable manner, and QVC bans their discussion.  Seriously??  My feeling is that if QVC is going to remove posts "deemed religious" than should not be so hypocritical as to shove Christmas at us for five months of the year in order to make money.  I'm not one who boycotts companies to make a point, but I'm done shopping with QVC simply because of their hypocrisy.  Purchased a lot of things since 1988 when I first got cable, but times have changed and there are many other companies who will gladly take my business.

It's NOT QVC's fault...It has nothing to do with Christian religions!

I wish they would put all these type of threads over here in Among Friends lump them all in together. We got them scattered thru all the forums.

Religious, personal day to day business, pictures of animals, etc.

They need to really enforce the title of the thread to just that and not allow

off topic stuff to take over.

ive read Gloriajean's thread was closed since its religious. As many others have said, there is nothing  in the standards that says we can't post about faith.

since you are removing threads that are deemed religious, you need to remove Kristne's blogs about the blessing of her adopted son, Dan Wheelers'  blogs about his late wife Cakes and their strong faith, especially the emotional entry about her going Home to God; Jennifer Coffeys Mantras, Samdra Bennet's blog about being Married by Dan Hughes (since he's dressed as a man of the cloth) and there are probably many more blogs if I wanted to keep digging.

This is is not meant to be argumentative. I just want you to consider another perspective. I read those blogs and was especially moved by Dan Wheelers journey with his wife. I still read Lisa Mason's Facebook posts about their faith and how it's important to them.  It's also important to the people who post here as well. They were a nice safe place for people to post as are many threads on this forum. But people asking for prayers and sharing positive messages is needed. It is a part of us who want to be there for people and lift them up instead of tearing them down.

You created a home for Gamers; maybe you can create a place for people of faith?

@makeup addict   I would be willing to bet there are hundreds of websites where people of faith can express themselves.  This is a SHOPPING FORUM.  There's a time and place for everything and religion has no place here.

Surely you can discern the difference between promoting a doctrine and reporting an event like a wedding where a clergyman officiated.

Lisa Mason's Facebook page has nothing to do with QVC.  In fact, Facebook might be a good place for people to express their spirituality.  Other groups have taken their discussions there.  What QVC employees do and say is a personnel matter where the company will have to set policy.  The board monitors have nothing to do with that.

The mods have said you can still offer and receive prayers if you wish.  I don't think anyone objects to sharing a positive message as long as religion is not involved.

And therein lies one of the issues - religious discussion, cutting and pasting of religious messages and Bible verses, proselytizing, witnessing, whatever - injected into threads that had nothing to do with religion, and starting such threads in forums anywhere in the forums.

The actions of a relative few and the sense of entitlement of some, took things to the point where QVC made a decision. Did everyone who enjoyed the threads do this? No. But enough did that QVC apparently agreed/decided on this action. There more than likely would not have been as many complaints if any accommodation had been made by a few posters. But there are always a few for whom proving a point or being at the front of the confrontational  march is most important.

I don't feel QVC made this decision quickly or lightly. It took them months to a year to come to this action.

Ok. Going with your argument that religion has no place on a shopping forum. How about these forums, that in my opinion, also have no place.

Sports

TV and Movies

Book Club

Gamers

Pet Lovers

Mom to Mom

I'd be willing to bet there are 1000's of websites and 100's of facebook forums and pages where these folks can go and discuss their interests.

I call it like I see it. Ridiculous, huh?

Gloriajean's thread is already gone--but Dan Wheeler's post today mentioned "God" and "Heaven."  When is Qvc going to make things right........
