The hour long presentation of the bug killer contraption makes my head hurt. And really makes me wonder what's up with the heads that run QVC?

Better not plan on watching today either. It's Dyson.
Or HSN is on the Lessman role for the day. Talk about boring.

For all of us who are watching less and buying fewer things, there are probably twice as many who are just discovering the Q or are new enough to not have Q burn out. They don't need to change as long as they have a continuous revenue stream. We vote with our remotes but I don't think they even notice. ![]()

I've mentioned that before & got smacked down by the 2 shoppers who purchased it & love it! LOL
You know you are a sales-king when you can talk about dead bugs for an hour. And Q can't even ship it until August!
But 2 hours of Josie Maran may beat that, yes it'd different products but not really.

I totally agree with the theme of this post. An hour on a mattress? I don't care if the darn thing makes coffee for you once you wake up, it doesn't need an hour to explain it. If someone tunes in late for the presentation, shorten it and repeat it again, which they do with regular tsv's. And the videos are always online also!
I don't think anyone needs an hour to understand a vacuum, or a bug zapper. And an hour is NOT enough time to explain a laptop, and the vendor doesn't really do it anyway, they take calls and repeat themselves over and over and are too simplistic to begin with.
Whenever I see that the tsv is Bose, or Dyson, Dell, a mattress or anything electronic, I know that I will not be watching any and the items on air will be scarce as well. I realize that QVC is a shopping channel, but on these days it turns into a very long infomercial without the laugh factor.

@mibo wrote:We're back to full hour shows on the TSV. Q was doing this often last holiday season and then dialed it back some except on computer or mattress days. Last weekend they did full hour presentations on headphones!!!!! Yes, allegedly new technology. 3 colors, plug it in, rock out. Simple. Repeat. Over and over and over. I've noticed this has occurred more and more, and these 1 hour TSV presentations are occurring about every other hour. In Q's words, they have millions of products on line. Whey do they need to present so few. Boring, mindless, inane drivel. These things have resulted in my watching less and less and therefore spending less and less money with this company. Not a bad thing, really!
Funny post. Although, I know it wasn't intended to be funny. I think some people just can't seem to wrap their heads areound the fact that Qvc is a retailer, they exist solely to sell things. They don't exist to entertain anyone. They do one hour shows and longer, yesterday there was a 3 hour Logo show, because the average person does not sit down and watch hour after hour of some shopping channel. Who does that? If there is an hour show, most people watch 15 or 20 minutes and move on to other things. That's why long shows for one item are so repetitive. Shoppers drop in and drop out. Also, you can go online to check out the items in any given show, so there is no need to watch an entire show. And.....why.....and this is a real question.....why would anyone watch even 30 seconds of a sales presentation (that what shows are) for a product they know full well they don't want? I remember those earphones. I never saw a single presentation...not one. Why would I waste my time looking at something I don't want? If something is boring, mindless drivel; you're perfect;ly free to find something else to watch on the 300 other tv channels....lol

@spiderw wrote:Boring, stale, repetitive, little variety, the Q needs an over haul. How about some different products, how about some different ways of selling, how about not using the same descriptions over and over, let's go to colors, how many do we have left, once they are gone, they are gone and on and on. I have posted about this before and I do not watch the Q unless it is absolutely something I am very interested in and I check my program guide for those shows.
I have been watching for many years and I now have little interest in this shopping channel. I save money and that is a good thing especially when I do not have the room for anything any more, it is a good thing for me!
So ... are you complaining ..... or are you glad?
Every presentation must stand alone and explain the product as if the viewer knows nothing at all about it. If you have already seen the presentation, and aren't interested .... why do you keep watching?

When we were kids my Mom did not allow us to have on the TV or radio when we were doing our homework so I never grasped the concept of having a TV on just for background noise. However, I am aware that many people do this all the time - they don't pay any attention and do not care what is on TV - it's just background noise to keep them company. It seems QVC would be good for this as they never stop talking.
