I admit I use it once in awhile and I'm in my fifties, sometimes it's needed with all that goes on in the world today.

You are all so right, and I'm proof! I was a child of the fifties, reared in a home with little profanity. As I became a young adult I picked up language I never heard at home. Honestly, at first, I didn't know what some words meant! I was horrified the time the f bomb came out of my mouth! It's true, the more you are exposed, the more likely you are to pick it up! I have a granddaughter and I don't want her to ever learn any of those words from me! Thanks for making this an issue! I will now be more conscious of my speech!

Never underestimate the power of kindness.

Had this thought the other day, why is everyone so involved with being P. correct, when so many in talking drop the F bomb at everyother word?? How do they get away with it, over the airwaves, I really hate that. Just using it, I hate it.

I don't know if I'm just becoming a "prude" in my old age or what but it seems to me that profanity is becoming more rampant both on the street and on social media. I'm concerned about my grandchildren being exposed to language at home that my children never were (because my daughters-in-law don't seem to have had the same morals instilled in them that my sons had) but I guess if they don't hear it at home, they're going to hear it and read it everywhere else anyway. I personally find the "F" word extremely offensive but am exposed to it daily, even at work. I just find it sad. Thanks for letting me rant.

I'm not sure that your assessment of your DILs'  "morals", based on their vocabulary usage, will provide very accurate conclusions. YOUR choice of "words" describing THEM  is pretty distainful.

More than likely they didn't learn that certain words are more appropriate at certain times than other words are. If children are taught early on that some words will offend grandma, they'll most likely learn that and abide by it.
