Re: Problems with mail delivery/stolen mail?

@Mz iMac I do have cameras everywhere....now.  At the time I didn't have cameras up.

Sure, it's a federal offense, but come on!  Like I said, nothing happens to people!

I won't go into what happened with my bank account while using the gas pump a year ago last December, but I know for a fact that Wellsfargo doesn't pursue the criminals unless it's over $500....this I know.

So, like I said, people don't get punished.  I do agree people don't bother to report things but, honestly, I think they feel defeated....

Whole Foods Market now has Amazon lockers you can rent for deliveries. My biggest issue is having UPS hand over my packages to USPS...chance of delivery issues skyrocket when USPS gets a pkg. I don't like having six Yankee candles delivered to my porch upside down in 105 degree heat; any idea what the condition they were in when they arrived? And the pkg clearly says what's in it and "this side up?"

Re: Problems with mail delivery/stolen mail?

Wow, we must be the exception!  Our mailman hand delivers our mail to the front door whenever we have a package.  If we aren't home, he leaves it by the front door and there is ALWAYS a milkbone for Willie.

We put outgoing mail in our box all the time.  I guess we have been lucky that nothing has been tampered with.  We can't see our box from the house........long winding driveway with a lot of trees.

Fear not Brothers and Sisters! I have read THE BOOK..........we win!!!

We have had so much trouble with our mail over the years here.

We get other's mail, they get ours.

Carrier dropping packages in the driveway right in front of the garage door, in plain sight of passing cars, when we have a private and covered front porch, that passersby can't see much on, just 10 paces away from the driveway, yet they won't use it (unless we complain,  then they use it till the next new carrier starts).

Door to mailbox left open after depositing the mail.

I miss the doors on the old homes in the area of town I grew up in that had the mail slots in them. Your mail was put in there, and landed inside on the entry way floor, safe and sound (unless you had a dog that went crazy and tore it up! LOL).

@Mominohio I have one of these doors, but I got a puppy last year so I had to tape it shut because he was chewing up all of my mail. I had to put a note inside my water bill that the dog ate the envelope.... LOL My mail carrier now just puts the mail in between my storm door and my front door.

ID2...Your reply was not helpful...I never blamed the Post Office...I blame the thieves that took outgoing mail out of my mailbox on my property.

The issues have been resolved...

The bank has refunded the money.

The Postmaster was very helpful.

Thanks again to those of you with helpful suggestions...I guess one can't be too careful and cautious these days...

Re: Problems with mail delivery/stolen mail?

We sometimes get our mail at 7p.  It's annoying but at least it is put in the mailboxes.

I had signed up for Informed Delivery from USPS.  I can see what mail is being delivered for me and for my dad, who lives below me.  He was getting the mail and not leaving it for my sister or me to go thru.  I pay his bills and this was becoming a real pain in the @@@.  I also see when packages are being delivered and I get texts for every move made until delivery.  It's annoying but better than not having any idea where anything is.

I write very few checks, but when I do, I use a thin point Sharpie pen in a crazy color.  Where I live, if I leave an envelope in the mailbox, it will stay in the mailbox!
