My husband was laid off in April as he works as a project director in the oil and gas industry. As you can imagine with the oil price briefly going negative, and everything shut down, there simply are no jobs in his area of expertise. He checks daily for any postings and has a lot of contacts in the industry but the forecast right now is dismal.

But there was one job posted that is exactly what he did before. It's with an excellent company, great benefits and salary. He did a phone screen and the interviewer said they'd be soon scheduling in-person interviews (75 people applied).

I am requesting prayer that he might at least get an in-person interview.  He's been so down lately and the idea of having employment (and health insurance!) would be so great.

Thank you for your prayers.

I will definitely include your husband in my prayers when I pray all the time for my 60 yr old son who just lost his long time job.  He is supporting 5 people.  He has his grandchildren living with him also, and is devitstated.

It seem like when you make a good sAlary and have been with   a company for years, to save money, they kick you out and outsource to people that don,t have a clue what they are doing.

@busymom22 and @qvcaddition,

You can count on me for prayer.

So many years ago, my DH was in the same position.  Many others were also laid off.  Thanks be to God, the right thing happened.   But we have never forgotten, are very grateful, and are committed to helping others.  During that time, my DH took a part-time job, and it did him good to get out of the house, even though it paid very little.

I will pray for your son.  That must be very difficult.  Blessings to your family.

@busymom22

Thank you.  He,s very depressed. Not fair when you give everything to the company.  The men that were his crew are calling him because they don,t know how to take care of certain problems.

He will make it.
