@Still keeper of the koiI too respect your decision to post or not, that being said, I don't believe half the high faluten stuff people say on these boards. People claim to have all kinds of degrees, even advanced degrees, when no doubt they just had a flair for English and grammar in high school. It just shows how small they really are when they take someone to task over such stuff.

Imo it's excellent advice to take all posts / posters (including the OP & you & me lol) with a grain of salt. Maybe especially the ones who present a perfect facade of any type.

Remember the "French model" commercial ? People of the interweb can be great embellishers and fiction "writers" for good or bad.

Imo you're stressing over what other posters do. Trying to control them.

The only person you can control is you. And your reaction.

Many of us (me too) have been burned by other people in real life and by anonymous posters on the boards ..... it's our choice to put it behind us and post or not post but it's not our choice to direct how others are going to post.

eta: look at this thread. Pages of posters support you. Jmo but don't dwell on 2 or 3 who you perceive to be skeptical, critical or negative  or who just tried to help by pointing out more posters could read and enjoy your posts if they had paragraphs etc.

Your kindness and compassion far outweigh any negativity pointed in your direction.  Please ignore them.  For some reason, there are some who equate spelling and grammar with poor education and/or intellect.  Absolutely not true and is very often a poor reflection on the person doing the "correcting".

My wonderful oldest son has an IQ of 163 and is well educated, also has been a Tutor for MIT students (over Skype) up to Physics 22/23 and has other accomplishments .  But he has a slight glitch and writes phonetically on occasion..... but he gets lambasted on line if he dares to make a spelling error.  Please ignore those who feel they have to correct in order to feel superior when most likely they are not....

Edited to add:  My son does not Tutor spelling.... he Tutors Physics and Mathmatics.

Re: Posting on threads only to point out writing flaws...

Ever since I have been on these boards, I have seen people who start a topic only to criticize how others speak or how they write.  They are always critical, and if you wait long enough, you will see them make mistakes they make fun of others making.

I have said all along, it's not the way people speak or write, it's what they have to say, what is in their hearts or on their mind.

@Still keeper of the koi....These so called grammar police must live very pitiful lives if they have nothing better to do than correct people's written words on a shopping chanels forum. How sad. Don't let their pathetic actions drive you away. As the saying goes......"Don't let the world change you. Be yourself and change the world."

I would just ignore their posts. I consider them to be bullies. It is easy to post on these forums whatever you think because it is not done face to face. Many are just unhappy with their own lives and this is their outlet.  So continue with your kind and caring posts.

@Still keeper of the koi   I know what you mean like the ones pointing out misspelled words --  I wonder are they perfect?   I doubt it but it makes them feel better to put someone else down.  Yes, unfortunately, there are a few in this forum.  Ignore them they already feel bad about themselves and want everyone to join in their misery.  Cat Tongue

Re: Posting on threads only to point out writing flaws...

@Still keeper of the koi- It's a shame that, when the forums were redone, they eliminated the "ignore" button.  That way, you could simply click "ignore" for any posters whose posts you never wanted to see.  I think QVC should bring it back; there have certainly been enough requests for it.

Don't let anyone drive you away from the boards.  When you see the ID of a poster you know is just going to make an unkind or critical comment, don't even read it.  Just move past it.  "Ignore" it!  Don't give that person the satisfaction of replying or letting it upset you.

You clearly have a kind spirit; focus on those who enjoy your interesting posts.  (((Blessings)))  Heart
