   HAPPY 4th of JULY! 
        When I was young we said the pledge of allegiance in school. The library had a flag on the opposite side of the street from the movie theater , 5&10 cent store,and drugstore. 
      I recall stopping, holding my hand over my heart and whispering the pledge. My family walked by one day and  I stopped. Mama told me to come on but Grandmama told me to finish. I would have anyhow.

@Tissyanne , I have so many memories of Summer, especially July, too growing up. I have two sisters and three brothers (we lost my older brother four years ago), and we grew up very close. We still are. My Dad also made homemade ice cream, and we'd barbecue hot dogs. My Mom made her potato salad. So good! Later, we'd gather with our neighbors and watch the fireworks from the high school nearby. I treasure those memories. It will be just be the two of us today. The weather's sunny, but not too warm. We're barbecuing steak...but first, a hot dog! I hope you and your family enjoy and have a safe, and happy
