Last year, I was at a drive-in getting a bite to take home, and a yellow swallowtail was on my car. I used to be so squeamish about wildlife, but I reached over and it climbed on my palm. It was the sweetest sensation. Using a upward motion to let him push off, he went straight up then did an acrobatic vertical loop (to show off lol) and away he flew.
It certainly was uplifting for me to have held one in my hand.
