I wasn't sure where to post this but I had a very scary moment.
I plugged in my outside lights and came inside. (Can't find my timer).
I just happened to go outside to get something in the garage and smelled smoke--OMG my mulch was on fire!!! I immediately freaked out and my husband luckily put it out! I have 2 spiral trees plugged into each other (connecting style) with outside extension style cord -- the connectors caught fire.
Just sharing -- it was the last thing I ever thought of happening. Plus these decorations I bought end of season so this is the first year I used them. We can only figure they had a short or something to cause this fire. You can be sure if I replace them I'll keep a close eye on them!

Thank goodness your husband took care of the fire.
Holiday decorations are lovely, and for the most part they are safe provided they are approved and pre tested, but even then there could be problems, so best to keep an eye on them.
Wishing you and yours, upcoming happy safe holidays.
