I miss those free thin plastic bags. I have 3 dogs so I go through a LOT of plastic bags! My neighbor gives me her newspaper bags, & I will use bread bags & even QVC bags! My relatives in AZ save their bags for me & bring them when they come for a visit. And when I go to MA to visit other family I stuff as many Shaw's & Stop & Shop bags in my suitcase as I can for the trip home. And even with all the "bag support" that I have, I still need to buy pet waste bags now & then!
If I lived where they still had those plastic bags I would hoard them too!

Earth Rated waste bags are treated with a TDPA additive that helps accelerate the time it takes for the plastic to breakdown.
Of all the biodgradable bags we tried these are the best. The dispenser works great and has a holder for 'used' bags so you do not have to carry them. We have 2 dogs that go 3 times a day!!! We buy them buy the case.

PS almost all re-usable bags are washable.
Too make it really simple I only use canvas bags for items that may be 'icky' like meat.
Other bags are used for clothes or homegoods.
The ones that pack into a tiny pouch are for whatever unplanned purchase.
Oh I like those! I have the shopping bags sold at the store but they get all funky. Those washables look perfect.

How this breaks my heart. This is why plastic straws and single use bags are only the beginning. Next, I think, should be fast food plastic cups and lids. The technology is here to make them from hemp or bamboo. It wouldn't surprise me if the fast food giants are already working on it - I hope.
A lot of what I pick up at the beach is fast food cups, often with half of of the contents still in them. Also the lids and straws. I particularly hate those large plastic domes that cover cups with whipped cream on top. ![]()

@RinaRina I use the plastic bags as a liner in my trash receptacle in the kitchen an smaller ones in the bathroom. That way I recycle them if not I would have to purchse plastic bags to line the trash receptacles.

@ILTH wrote:Nobody I know uses big bags. Small kitchens, roaches, mice, moths, gnats, other wildlife. It's a fact of life. Most people here throw garbage out every day. Absolutely no use for large bags.
The garbage goes out, at least, every morning when we go out.
Ohhh! You just gave me an idea! A small trash can in the kitchen? Ha!
Never thought of that! And I can dispose of the garbage/trash every day!
Thanks!

@BeccaLou wrote:@phluphy Please give me a hint how you do that.to make blankets and mattresses with the bags.
@ becca lou,
I've used two methods:
Zippy Loom and crochet.
Both methods were hard on my hands and knuckles.
The easiest way would probably be to weave them.
Last year, I kept saving the bags because I was going to try weaving, but didn't want to waste the money on a PEG LOOM if I wasn't going to stay with it (b'cz Peg looms are large and I don't have a lot of spare space).
If your hands get stiff or you have arthritis, IMHO, weaving is the best way to make large items like rugs and mattresses.
To find more info, you can go to You-Tube and type "plarn" or "weave mattress", "weave rug" on the search bar.
Here's one called:
Peg loom Plastic bag rug

I really like these. I use all types of bags but would like some of these also.

I am not happy about the plastic straw ban either.
Went to WMT and started hoarding .... already.

I use them to line my trash cans in the bathrooms, to empty kitty litter into for disposal and then recycle the extras. would never keep them for art projects tho. and try really hard not to get them in the first place; am using my canvas bags as much as I can, or request paper if I forget those.
