For some reason each time these pies are shown someone starts a thread about the perceived outrageous price. I can't help but to laugh. The price is so much in keeping, if not better, than other mailorder services, other outlets.

If food delivery is something you don't like, for whatever reason then that's fine. Others certainly like it, and repeatedly buy it. As stated earlier, if it wasn't selling, it wouldn't be a repeat item.

I think if I started a thread for each item it didn't like, or would never pay QVC's price for, or thought I could fine exact item cheaper,  then I would be spamming the forum from now until next next Tuesday. But what point would that serve?

We all have different likes and priorities and price points we're willing to spend on an item. All items. That doesn't mean someone is ridiculous or nuts...just different from someone else.

I buy food on line but not usually the sweets.  My husband has a sweet tooth but mine is take it or leave  it.  I do like David's cookies and keep those on hand during holidays.

I have some auto delivery food items now and when they expire that is it.  Prices have really creeped up and can't see paying more than what I do now.  I have skipped some orders and also have cancelled.  Time to get real and prices at the store are going up as well.

I like to watch but have not ordered anything since Christmas in food or snack category.

The pies seem pretty pricey to me and they would have to be outstanding and not going to risk it.  I wouldn't pay that much anyway.   We have some good bakeries around here if I need a pie.  They are not charging those prices either.

Now my husband is a different story.  If he wanted that pie he would buy it and not care about the price so much.

Junior cheesecake always looks so good to me but I would be the only one eating. Never have tried and probably never will.

 I wonder what Schwan charges for a pie?

@Carmie

Those are works of art!  Just beautiful crust work.

I could do some damage with a fresh pot of coffee and your pies.

I agree @snipsnapsnur .  It is an outlandish price. Definetly not worth it for a mere pie. But QVC is not known for their reasonable pricing.   I can make better at home or our local bakery and farmers market has excellent pies selling for under $30.

It would depend on the circumstances and the pie. I can certainly see myself buying one or two for a special holiday dinner. I understand that some people live on very limited budgets and that would be an undoable extravagance.  None of the food on QVC is for budget shoppers.  It's all super expensive.  It's for people who don't think about price when they see such things.

@snipsnapsnur

I wouldn't either because I bake.  But there are many that don't.

I priced an 8" Apple Crumb this Thanksgiving at a local well known bakery.  Thought I would save some time since I had 39 people coming.

It was $48 plus tax.  She stated they were taking 'wait list' orders only since they had sold out with preorders.

So many people will spend that...not me....but everyone can buy what they want.

Then it's not for you.  Everything isn't for everybody.  Judging by how often we have this conversation here, those pies are on air frequently.  You think QVC gives repeat air time to stuff that doesn't sell?

Pies from the specialty pie shop in my town are $35 to $40 a piece.  They are only open the same hours I work and the parking lot is unnecessarily narrow.  $40 for a pie and $10 for convenience doesn't seem so bad to me,

You do you though.

Gee, thanks for telling me that they aren't for me.  Like I said, I don't care how good they are or even how many people buy them, I think it's ridiculous -- and that's MY opinion.

And it's MY opinion you're being ridiculous.

I was also outraged at the price. Very sad that QVC has abandoned the lower middle class consumer.

When was QVC ever for the lower middle class consumer?

 I am completely happy with Marie Callender's Pies. Haven't found one yet that I didn't like. They are usually only $7, and sometimes less on sale.

I'd never buy a pie that cost $50.00 either.

IMO, I think that all the foods that QVC sells are way over priced.

I do notice many more "gourmet" food shows, so it must be that a lot of people are happy with these products.

Go figure .
