@On It   Your timing is askew.  You picked one heck of a week to go to the mountains and Ground Zero at that!

@Desertdi    Rats!  Just when I had a yen to drive across Arizona on I-40.  Is it snow, ice or wind?

@Kachina624   All of the above.  Impassible in both directions from Kingman to the NM state line.   Gusts recorded at 88mph.

Not so bad down here...sustained wind 35mph...gusts up to 55mph...only a sprinkling of rain...and around 50°.

@Desertdi    The worst hasn't gotten here yet.  Its bright and sunny but very gusty.  Getting colder.

@Kachina624 That is a life-long problem. My timing is often askew. We were trying to get ahead on some home improvement stuff. The guys in the trades are much easier to get this time of the year before the spring and summer.

So far, so good. Light snow has started. Just holding my breath for the big wind event. The local meteorologist said to expect hurricane force winds this afternoon between 75 and 90 MPH gusts. Sustained winds will be 50 MPH. Falling trees and downed power lines are still the big threat.

@Kachina624  Blustery here.  50mph gusts.  Electricity and of course internet off and on.  Got about 6 inches of snow so far but with the wind hard to tell.

Our trash receptacle did blow over into the road....but luckily the trash guys did come...DH DW

@dancingwoman    Hope your electricity perseveres so you have heat.  I'm sure you're a lot colder than us Southerners.  Stay warm.

@Kachina624  We don't need electricity for heat but we do need it for water.  It runs the pump to the well..I guess we could always melt snow if worse came to worse...DW

@RedTop    You name it and we've got it all in the Southwest today.  Now the wind is blowing so hard, it has created a dust storm that has obliterated our 10,000+ft mountain.

Isn't it weird that you, who are usually cold now, are so warm, while we who are usually warmer are so cold?
