Paging HOMEGIRL --- How Are You?

Since you posted that you had lost your sweet dog, I have not seen you on the boards. You were very kind to me when my little dachsund was sick. Hope you are doing ok.

Re: Paging HOMEGIRL --- How Are You?

Hi @moon_gazer

I am doing fine.  Thank you so much for asking.  I have many moments when I miss her still and could list a whole lengthy set of times, but I think we all have those.

I've been posting every day, in many places here on the boards.

Do you know how to find a poster's set of posts?  Go to the search bar at the top of the page, enter the poster's name, and instead of "Community" click on "Users."  That will tell you when and what someone has posted.

I do hope your little guy is doing well.  I know being with you is the most important thing to him.

Hugs to you both (and if he doesn't like strangers to hug him, just rub his ears for me!)  Heart

Re: Paging HOMEGIRL --- How Are You?

Oh, good! Glad you are still posting. Guess I just hadn't been on the forums that you were on. Thanks for the info on how to find a posters posts. Sorry to say that my little Mickey is not doing very well. Lots of heavy panting in the evenings, even though Vet has increased his lasix from 1/2 tablet per day to 2 whole tablets. His little heart is having to work so hard. I fear we are getting near the end.

Take care.Heart

Hi @moon_gazer

I'm with you both.  My girl panted more toward the end, too.  This is such a hard time.

Be strong.  I know you are.   And don't forget that so many of us are with you. Heart

Here's a small distraction for you:  don't forget to use the @ symbol to notify a poster, anyone you want.  Like this:

  @GingerPeach or @moon_gazer

You may have noticed that in a thread, in your post, if you type the @ then you get a pop-up that lists posters names who are in the thread already.  You can then just click on the name you want.

My heart goes out to you. I went through that with my one darling baby.  Just so sad.

Does he still eat?  If he does, he is hanging on.

Conversely.............

I'm sorry Smiley Sad

Wishing you strength and bless that little pup!

Yes, he wants to eat all the time, which to me, is so surprising. His breathing is getting worse, though. I had to call my vet last night to ask him if we could increase his lasik dosage to ease the heavy breathing and he said to begin giving him 3 whole pills per day (pills are 12.5mg. each). I am afraid his kidneys won't be able to take it. Tears are streaming down my face as I type this - I just can't bear the thought of my days without him.

Thank you for your kind words.

He still wants to eat--bless his little heart!  Then, I would give him steak, filet mignon, chicken in little nibbles throughout the day!  You can carry your little angel around (with a towel just in case there's a leak) and keep him close.  That way he won't jump around and tax his heart more.

These little babies do get HF, probably from all the flight or fight hormones they have to use as protection.

I forget his age, hon.  I know he loves you so much, and you are a fabulous mommy to him.  If he wants to eat, just go with the flow.

Precious little fella.  I'd be sending hearts to you but I can't get it to work.   I'll pray for you to have strength and peace around you.  I know you already have love...........

Have been missing your posts too.

I looked you up and came across this post.  I know it is an older one, but I'm using it to say HI! and I'm thinking of you.  Heart

Hi @Drythe

You are so sweet.  Heart

I know you've been away.  I think you said a trip?  I hope it was everything you wished for.

Did you see the interesting news about the African Parks and moving wildlife to what will hopefully be protected areas?

@GingerPeach

I was able to visit Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland including Auschwitz.

Eastern Europe is fascinating to me, lucky to have been able to visit much of it.

I did did not see any stories of re-homing African animals, but will surely look for it now.

Best to you, I know that you are feeling that open window of loss in your heart that allows cold air to whip through as you grieve for a lost baby; I feel it too.  Heart
