Paging Ginger Head re weighted blanket.....

[ Edited ]
@GingerHead Hi, I am just checking in with you to see how your blanket is working out. I ordered the 12 lb that was suggested for my weight and put it on the bed today. Got in bed. Panicked. Could hardly move around in bed with it on me. Heavy to push off. I am sorry to say this is not going to work for me. I really had high hopes But this is not for me. Claustrophobia kicked in. To those that suggested the white noise. I ordered one and love it. It isn't magic but I do seem to get to sleep sooner and for longer periods of time. I appreciate all the comments I got on this subject. Thanks to all.

Re: Paging Ginger Head re weighted blanket.....

I ordered the 7 pound weighted blanket and it is perfect. I don't get the claustrophobic feeling at all and it really has made a huge difference in how well I sleep.

@cody2 I'm so sorry that it had that effect on you, I wonder if a lighter blanket would work out better.

@cody2 🤗

I understand the claustrophobic feeling. I wouldn’t like a weighted blanket on me either with claustrophobic issues.

Glad you are trying the white noise instead. Works good for me!!

@WeRescuecats I didn't know they came that light. That might work. It might be better if I tried a throw size instead of full size.

@Kitlynn Maybe that would work. Especially in a smaller size. Thanks for the information. I thought 15 lbs was the lightest one.

Re: Paging Ginger Head re weighted blanket.....

Hi @cody2 ,

Thanks for asking.

I did get my 12lb blanket in and am planning to try it out tonight.

It does seem pretty heavy in the pkg but hopefully once opened up that weight will seem less once it's spread out.

I was thinking maybe I should have ordered the lightest 7lbs like @Kitlynn has.

But I'm giving it a try and will see. I think others say to give it some time that it may not work at first....but if it felt like it was pinning you down and you felt like you described then I don't think it's going to be a good fit for you. Sorry to hear that, do you think a 7 lb may work?

As far as white noise, I agree and couldn't sleep without it....we used to use a fan for that now we use a loud air filter.

I hope you can find some relief soon and I'll update you on my weighted blanket try out.Woman Happy

@RescueLover I have used a fan at night for years because I always slept warm at night and it gave a little white noise affect. But this little thing I ordered allows me to up the volume and it works better then my fan. I already love it. Smiley Happy

That's too bad, @cody2.  I figured I would panic if I couldn't get out of bed quickly for a bathroom run.

I should plug my white noise machine in again.  There was road noise at my previous house.
