And if you didn't have one you'd get one after eating all those cookies.

I'll take those peanut butter cookies.

Thanks.   LOL, those are the one things I don't do every year.   A special request from a friend who doesn't bake.

Many of us are not being scrooges, just questioning the number of dozens each attendee is expected to bring (13).

Plus all the other aspects of this get together.

With 13 people it would be 5 1/2 dozen in my cookie swap experiences.

Then you missed the point of what I wrote.

One simple batch would be a great match, for me, anyway.!

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Mememe:  I'd love to see a few photos of all of those 'thirteen dozen times thirteen guests' cookies at your get-together!   Keep us posted!

Re: Our holiday get-together has turned into a chore

I'd bow out and maybe suggest meeting for lunch out.  Two friends and I decided years ago that we only give gifts for family so birthdays or any special occasions we'd pick a place and that'd be our get-together.  When we go out at a restaurant we begin telling the server we want separate checks - life is so much simpler!!!

Someone else does the cooking and cleaning up - my kind of get-together.

Re: Our holiday get-together has turned into a chore

Just got the low down on my familys Xmas eve party. All appetizers and finger foods this year!! And we are playing cards too. No little kids to open presents so no gifts to worry about. Should be a good time. I have some dynamite slider recipes that I am going to make. Using paper plates and napkins so nothing to wash. Oh happy days!!!!
