I'm retired now, but I remember the days when I worked. We were only allowed 2 days of what they called "unexcused" abscenses. If you were really sick & had to be off more than 3 days, you needed a doctor's excuse. Most everyone would come in sick and then, of course, things would just get passed around to everyone. After that job, I worked part-time in a library so I was more exposed to germs from everyone (patrons would come up to the desk to check out an item, sneeze or cough into their hands, and then hand me the item--I would grab the disinfecting wipes & wipe the item down). People are very uncaring about how their coughing & sneezing affects others, even coming to church while deathly ill. Anyway, I know also how employers get retribution on employees when they are sick too much & don't even get me started on what to do when your kids get sick.
