Now THAT would have had me screaming and running, and my heart pounding, @Sweetbay magnolia.  The snake in my house was no biggie!

I believe the correct response would have been to burn the house down.

Snakes are not my favorite, but I can handle it if I see them first. But in the house like that! OH MY! I'd have done a bit of screaming before I pulled it together and got it out, before it hid itself somewhere!

My true fear is bats. I'm totally, 100%, absolutely, unequivocally, terrified of bats. If one got in the house, I'd simply get in my car, head to the Realtor, list the house for sale, with all it's contents, and never look back! LOL

Glad you got it outside with no issues!

I guess it's best to give that carpet cleaner a good shake before bringing it inside from now on!

We should all be afraid of bats.  There was a story here in Florida not that long ago about a grandfather who caught a bat, not sure what the circumstances were around it.  But anyway, the bat was in a bucket and he told his grandson not to touch it.  We he did and he got bit.  The grandfather was going to take him to the ER, but the boy threw such a fit that he did not take him to the doctor.  Turns out the boy got rabbis and he died.  I am sure the Grandfather is devastated.

What a shock that must have been! Congratulations for managing it well. I used to have a snake as a pet and I'm generally not afraid of them, but having one crawl out of an appliance in the middle of the living room would absolutely shake me up.
