Woman Surprised

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

I had a snake in my house several years ago.  It was near the front door, and I ushered it out with a pair of sneakers.  I'm okay with reptiles.  A bug in my house?  Not so much!

So, where will you be keeping your carpet cleaner from now on?

I remember when I was a preschooler.  My mother carried in a laundry basket full of line dried clothes and set it in her newly washed and waxed kitchen floor.

A snake came out if the basket and tried to slither on the floor, but was having some difficulty.  My mother went crazy.  Her worst fear was snakes.

it was just a small garden snake and I offered to pick it up and take it out and proceeded to walk towards it.  My mother grabbed me so fast and panicked.  She called my dad at work and he had to come home early and take it out.  I remember my mother crying, screaming and running upstairs and downstairs like a nut.

After that, my mother would never hang clothing out again.  My father had to buy her a dryer.  She also hung clothes in the basement.

i have two sisters who have a panic fear of snakes....probably learned from my mother.  I I don't mind them.  My father taught me how to handle them and I have no fear.

I do avoid them.  They do not like to be disturbed.

Good job, MaryAnne.  You removed the snake without killing him.  They are actually helpful in the garden.
