I've always been an optimist too. I can see it changing in me and I don't like it.  As hard as I try, it's just not the same.

My biggest disappointment has been my faith in people to do the right thing.  Whether it's a politican or a random person, pick a topic.  I can't say I've ever been so discouraged and disappointed in people.

I'm glad I'm as old as I am so I don't have as many years left as most.  And yet, I'm still hopeful that things will get better so I know some of my old optimism is still there.

@CalminHeart   I get so disgusted when I see people gathered unmasked at huge family gatherings, beach parties, etc. I know after Thanksgiving with the college kids are coming home to bring COVID with them wherever they live, more cases rising will be on the news. All I can do is the right measures advised by the CDC and hope that eventually others catch on, too.
