This is exactly what they have been predicting for the past 20 or more years.    As the planet warms; they predicted more hurricanes and stronger hurricanes.  Monster hurricanes.  Well, the future....is now.  And it's going to get worse.  This is not an anomaly, this is our new reality.

The destruction in the Panhandle is horrible.   I believe many will be found dead.  I hope I am wrong.  It i so sad to see the destruction.   Living in Florida, I find people are not listening to the warnings or they just don't care.  This hurricane was a fast mover, that don't help.  People don't think it will be that bad.

Really sad the past couple of years.  I have a neighbor that has a family in Puerto Rico, they lost everything last year and they commited suicide.  I just cannot imagine!

Deepest condolences to your neighbor on their tragic loss. @BalletBabe. There are no words. 😰

I'm relieved to see you survived Michael okay, being there in FL, so near to the heartbreaking devastation.

I hope all of our posters did, from FL up through VA. So many in our state of NC are yet struggling to recover from Florence. Even far inland. We have family members yet taking shelter with us.

I pray Michael was the last big storm we'll see this season. Donating as possible to the multiple tragedies.

@Rowan72   Thank you for your kind words!  Our church is collecting donations, spent the day separating things.   I cannot imagine what these people are going through!
