Agree @LindaSal .  They can be opened manually when disconnected.  No reason to leave the garage door opened during a storm.

@ShanusNo need to do that, all electric garage doors can be put in manual model.  I am sure your husband knows how to do it.  It is not difficult.

@spumoni99   Yes, it can be manually pulled down by releasing the spring, but it's a veery door. Our garage is oversized and just easier to park the car outside in the driveway. The area has a covered porch.
