Re: No thank you for wedding gift....

When you think about it, humans are strange creatures.

We'll take a joyous, celebratory occasion.....say a birthday, or baby shower, and we'll turn it into this obligation.....

I don't know how many times I've opened an invitation and thought "Oh great, another baby shower. Wonder if I can get out of it? Now I have to go buy a gift." Grumble Grumble Grumble.

I remember griping to my Mom about how I never received a thank you note or acknowledgement for my generous gift at my step-son's wedding. Looking back now, I'm wondering if any of that stuff really matters.....and realizing that it probably doesn't.

I think I have figured out what my New Year's Resolution this year will be. Give when I want to give--enjoy whatever the occassion is, if I choose to go---and stop turning the happy into the dreaded.
