I decided that I will pick up a rotissaire chicken from the grocery store, make fresh sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce & brussel sprouts. That's it for me. Anyone else not having turkey? What's your menu?

I love delicious rotisserie chickens every week! Your dinner sounds perfect! (I also love ham, and prefer ham instead of turkey, although I'll have a 'side' of turkey when it's offered at Thanksgiving, but ham is my first choice. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

I have never in my life ate turkey for Thanksgiving. Our family ate turkey just about every week.
Instead, we had duck or venison. As we got older we went to restaurants on turkey day that served those items. This tridition has carried on....
I "normally" spend turkey day at a casino resort. I like to be served, not to be the server.
FWIW, my 17yr old GS called me this morning. He wants to have a "Nana" turkey day. So my daughter & SIL are shipping him off to me this weekend. GS always had the traditional turkey day at the other grands.

My sister is cooking for thanksgiving. She announced last week we were having chicken pot pie from a local restaurant. Today she asked if I'd rather have turkey. I guess we won't know for sure until Wednesday. My sister doesn't like to rush into anything.

We do turkey, but need ham because sil, and now grand, won't eat turkey! I only make turkey for Thanksgiving, so I'd miss it!

Your menu sounds great @Katcat1.
Last year I was invited to join friends for Thanksgiving dinner and arrived expecting the traditional meal.
They served spaghetti with homemade traditional 3" Italian meatballs instead. Although the meal was delicious, I went expecting turkey and wished I'd been warned in advance.
The next day I was at the local family deli buying the sliced turkey and cranberry relish I was still craving.

I'm not a big turkey fan. The last time I had Thanksgiving at my house, it was just us, and my daughter and SIL. We all much prefer the delicious side dishes. So, I made turkey cutlets and cooked them in broth.
After having a couple of turkey roasting disasters, I'm not doing that anymore. For many years, when I hosted both sides of the family, I baked a ham. Everyone seemed to enjoy that.
Being of Italian heritage, one of my cousins puts out a huge Italian feast. I don't think there are any rules.

We're not fans of turkey, so I tend to try new "fancy" recipes for Thanksgiving. I haven't yet decided on this year's main dish. The sides stay the same year to year just in case the main turns out bad.

When I think about it, Thanksgiving was the only time I ever baked a turkey. It's interesting to hear about the different foods people eat on Thanksgiving. I sometimes buy turkey at the deli. I am looking forward to my chicken from the grocery store. No cooking, no mess. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Thanks for sharing.

I'm thinking DH & I will go out for Chinese. I don't want the leftovers. Last years' turkey broth is still in the freezer. Probably should pitch it.
