Re: New Year, New Bird's Nest (January 2019)

Hello from a chilly Michigan.  You know it's bad when the National Security Council is tweeting this:

"For those in Michigan, please listen to your State and local authorities tonight and tomorrow re natural gas use in the coming days."

My electric people aren't that worried about the grid in Michigan.  Of course, we are all connected on the electric grid as proved back in 2003 with the Northeast blackout (man do I remember that).

My gas company lost operation of a natural gas compressor (?  I don't understand these things) in my county when there was a fire yesterday.  Apparently they've rerouted that natural gas from other 'gas fields' (don't understand that either).

Either way I have been decreasing my thermostate one degree at a time since I woke up.  Thank goodness heat rises and it's warm upstairs.

I'm still darting out to feed and water the wildlife Heart

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
