I need some ideas/advice. I need some to help doing some house cleaning. I need someone that can get up on a small step ladder and reach tops of 1 shelf, 1 ceiling fan and clean woodwork in small bedroom & 1 medium sized bathroom. Plus lower cupboards that require bending over that I cant do.
I dont have any idea what to pay or even how much to offer. I dont know what the going rate per hour is either. Could any of you offer ballpark figures? It would give me a place to start. Thanks I would appreciate any information.

Check your local newspaper, the ones that come out once a week. Some are free and thrown in your driveway. They have classified ads with cleaning help listed. Call a few and see what they are asking.
They won't come for peanuts. Be prepared to pay around$25 an hour. Cleaning people are expensive here.

Maybe talk to a neighbor, relative, somebody you can trust to refer you to
some help.
Please be careful who you let into your home.

What about trying Angis--used to be Angis List? I have used them before--are you going to be present for those jobs? Doesn't sound like too hard of a job to hire someone for and wouldn't take more than a couple hours ------as far as cost--would be an hourly rate or if you could find a young person to do it--maybe $20 an hour or just a set amount----

In my area there is a 2 hour minimum and they charge by the hour. I've heard rates anywhere from $50 to $95 per hour for 2 people to come in and clean. They will clean whatever you want from a deep cleaning - although that will take more than 2 hours - to a general cleaning. They will do the whole house or just a couple of rooms, whatever you need. If you call a service, tell them exactly what you want done and ask if that is something they can accommodate. If they can't, they'll let you know. You can have them come every 2 weeks or once a month, again it's up to you. Good luck.

Yes, please be careful as some of the companies require a contract..I work with a lady whose neighbor tried a company similar to Molly Maid, and you have to be willing to have them come out every two weeks for X amount of hours, otherwise they won't do it.
Are you looking for a one time service or continual?
That makes a difference as well. You received some good advice....

I have cleaning help every two weeks. At the moment I am on my 3rd helper. The 1st was a good friend that moved away.
The person I have now was recommended by my stylist. She did not use her services but knew her to be honest because she was a regular customer.
From my experience I know that most charge an hourly rate regardless of the size of the property. Some charge based on the job. Expect to pay anywhere from $30 to $55 an hour.
Ask around and see if any friends or relatives know of a reputable service. Then ask questions. Some do more than others.
