I never wanted to go back to my home town to live. It was a nice enough place and I had a nice enough childhood but after college I was out of there.

I never wanted to live in an area of the country that has radon gas and never have!
I don't like camping due to fear of ticks and the awful diseases associated with them.
I never want breast implants and hope that I never get bc and require reconstruction because honestly the thought of something that foreign in the body just nauseates me.
Ditto with metal hip replacement. A common procedure I know but hope I don't have to have it done.
Ditto with pins and rods that people at times need in various parts of their body.
Wouldn't mind zip lining but no bungee jumping.
Don't want to see an elephant up close though love them from afar.

My idea of camping is a hotel.

I never wanted to be filthy rich and live in a huge mansion with cavernous rooms! I don't think this is anything I will ever have to worry about! LOL! However, I wouldn't mind being comfortably wealthy and living a very low key life in a cozy cottage in the hills, near water!

I think the little retirement condo neighborhoods (they look like small 2 bedroom houses) are quite charming. You also have nice streets to walk.
We have them.
@ECBG Thanks, but we can't downsize to 2 bedrooms from almost 5000 sq. feet. DH needs to still have a home office and I'll also need a room to use as an art studio. So, 3 bedrooms is the minimum size we're looking into. Hoping to find something about 2000-2500 sq. ft. if they exist. If not, we'll rent a smaller house.

I had one in a surgery for a diviated septum. Best thing I ever did, and it should have been done years ago, as I was a breech baby born *87 years ago, at home and this was unheard of back at the time.I had it done when I was 78. If your appreance bothers you get it done.

I'm glad you finally got the surgery you needed. I'm lucky, my nose is one of my best features, thanks.

@Mom2Dogs Yes, we are faced with the same issue. We have had major renovations and permanent fixtures that will never be recovered in the price of selling this house. I would love to take some some the beautiful unique items that are not temporary to our new home, but unfortunately they are permanent fixtures. We have accepted that fact and have been told by agents that you won't recover the costs when you remodel to this extent. Another down side, when you look at other homes they won't compare...people just don't invest to the extent we did and most don't. The positive side....your home will sell quickly (of course, all homes are selling quickly in this market) and will sell for more than any other same/similar model/home offered. We are looking forward to finding our new home, but it is an arduous task as a result.

We have tried to sell several times over the years but over time we put to much money into it and cannot get our investment back. It is not the style that I would have picked out, but I have put my personal 'stamp' on it.
