The house I am living in...my husband owned it and purchased with his 1st wife as a new home...they divorced a few months later...sigh...I ended up with it.  

We have tried to sell several times over the years but  over time we put to much money into it and cannot get our investment back.     It is not the style that I would have picked out, but I have put my personal 'stamp' on it.

@SeaMaiden   My husband I are the same way, we are awful travelers, just don't enjoy it.  

Over 40+ years of marriage we have vacationed very little, we would like to go to the beach for a few days but it's a long drive to a beach from our house and not sure it's worth the effort.

To live in a big city .........live close enough to NYC to visit...

           but NEVER wanted to stay there

To fly in a plane..............had to 2X..........never again..........

           keep asking myself....how do i stay up here??

I never wanted a beach house. I don't like the ocean. It truly frightens me. Needless to say, I never wanted to go on a cruise and have not.

I think the little retirement condo neighborhoods (they look like small 2 bedroom houses) are quite charming.   You also have nice streets to walk.
