I should add, what may be most noticeable is change in shadows and you may even see eclipse-shaped shadows on the ground.

Last year my effect was more like a little haze from smoke.  Not sure if I would have noticed at all.  Guess it would have been worth it to take a day trip.

My area had 100% totality. I had the glasses, but the sun was so tiny looking through them. 

The people who were outside with me took the glasses off to see the totality. I was too scared to do that. That was the best part.

Birds never stopped chirping.

It got dark but like evening time.

We watched it from the Aquarium in Niagara Falls. Cloudy that afternoon so viewing wasn’t the best. Did see glimpses of it when the clouds parted. It got totally dark and the temp dropped. Very cool. We went out to get something to eat and later returned to the Aquarium parking lot to watch the fireworks and light drone show. Made for a fun evening.
