People shorten my name all the time, like @Shanus example and I HATE it.  Even if it is meant as a term of endearment I still loathe it.  I wish people would use my actual name.  I'll correct people once but after that I know that you don't respect me enough to use my name. It's an easy one just don't want to share it here.

I was the baby in the family so my Dad always called me Babe. My whole life that was what he called me. Nobody else did except him. I sure miss that now and would love somebody to call me that.
