I am so sorry for your loss. It seems like it is spreading to the rural areas now. I lost my Dad & the hardest part for me to accept is I could not be there for him at the end of his life. My parents have fought health battles & always recovered. They did have a wonderful life. I am thankful for that. The family did a Zoom call about 8 hours before he died. He was on morphine & tried to respond to us. I know he heard  the I love you from me & his Grandchildren & sister-in-law. He is at peace now. I am focusing on helping my Mom thru this. She's all alone in her room now. She is strong, she misses him but she knew his health had been failing before my Dad got Covid.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you.  Yes, he heard you. It may not show but they do hear us.

I lost Mom 3 years ago. I miss her so much that it physically hurts sometimes.  She was my best friend. While it wasn't covid, it was at Thanksgiving so that holiday is bittersweet now.  I take care of my 89 yr old dad and disabled sister, I'm thrilled he can still live at home. It's an honor to be able to help take care of them.
