@SeaMaiden So sorry to hear of your mishap. Hope you heal quickly.

Your story reminded me of Dolly Parton who said that she always makes herself up first thing in the morning because she never knows if she'll have to go to the ER (or something to that effect). Lol

@LuvSoCal  Great idea!

@SeaMaiden, Glas you were able to receive swift and excellent care.  Dislocation of a shoulder is painful, but I know you will be fine after your PT.

Many years back, my DD dislocated her shoulder after she was knocked over and tumbled after being hit with a huge ocean wave.  After PT, she was fine.

@SeaMaiden  I hope you heal quickly and PT helps you feel better. Yes, falling and tripping is dangerous. I've done it myself,but just a sprain here and there. My PCP put me on calcium supplements.

@SeaMaiden --Oh yes--had some friends who lived down that way. Know of Valley Gen---

Yes I did get pain meds a few times during that 10 hours. It was a very serious break according to the ortho dr. and the pain was pretty intense--did it on the 12th and had surgery the 18th of Oct.

My ankle is so much better, but still painful and achy by the end of the day--am walking on it without crutches now, but it's more of a limping gait. Do p/t 2x a week.

I remember your ice fall-- I did that and broke my wrist a few years ago--man, I need a new hobbyWoman Frustrated Yes need to slow down and be more careful about my surroundings-----just take it slowly-- no handstands for you for awhileWoman Tongue

Re: My First Trip To The Emergency Room For Me Today🤕

UPDATE

I went to see the Orthopedic shoulder specialist  Dr. Yesterday ( 02- 03-2023).  He said it looked like I did not tear the rotator cuff by the  strength I  had when he was asking me to press against his hand with my arm.  If there  is a tear,  I would know after a couple weeks of healing that there was something going on...pain etc.    At that point I would have an MRI.

In two weeks I can start some exercises he gave me to do with a stretchy band they gave me.  Until then, just take it easy and heal. He did not feel PT was necessary.

in one month I  go back to see him for a follow up.

I look forward to being able to lift my arm up....wash my hair...style my hair.......take a bath in the tub....it is going to be awhile...and I am very impatient  person!🙂

will update on my progress in the following weeks

You're lucky it wasn't worse, so good for that and hope you're better soon.

I now get up and think very often, do what you can soon, either one of us could be seeing a doctor today.  It's a horrible way to have to think at this age, but it's true.
