Nothing better than a happy hour with mussels in garlic butter and a good Martini.

Never had one and don't plan on ever having any.

I thought Jewish people didn't eat shellfish because they aren't Kosher.

I love them steamed and thankfully can get them locally for far less than $55/lb. Of course, a pound of mussels would feed a LOT of people. I have a friend who harvests them locally and brings me a bag full every once in a while when they're in season. When they're offered at a restaurant as an appetizer, I always get them. I also love clams and oysters.

I love steamed mussels. We steam them with beer, butter, garlic and Old Bay seasoning. Delicious.

I like mussels but won't pay so much $ for them. I have never bought them to fix them at home. They are kind of gritty even when ordered in a nice restaurant--didn't hear from the description if they were grit free or not. They did look alot bigger and more plump---easy pass.

@CelticCrafter Not every Jew is kosher, I am sorry that's what you believe it is far from reality.

@haddon9 Thank you not all Jews are kosher, I was not raised that way and do not keep my home that way
